[typography font="Amaranth" size="36" size_format="px" color="#9D0620"]Welcome![/typography]
For over a quarter of a century, the Reid family and friends have dedicated their lives to providing a superior public education to elementary students. In 1995, concerned about the public school system, they worked to create a challenging, respectful learning environment for their own children. Since then, thousands of children have benefited from the hard work and focused vision of these parents. We invite your family to participate in the vision with your students at Valley Academy or Painted Rock Academy.
Our office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Our summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and we are closed June 29 to July 3.

[fourcol_one][/fourcol_one] [fourcol_three_last]Reid Traditional Schools' Valley Academy was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education in 2014. The award was given in honor of Valley Academy being an "exemplary high performing school." Only four Arizona schools received the award that year, and Valley Academy was the only charter school to do so. Mrs. Victoria Wilber, RTS Valley Academy Principal says, "This is one of the most prestigious awards a school can attain, and I am so proud of our dedicated, talented teachers and smart, hard-working students." Reid Traditional Schools’ Valley Academy was one of the first charter schools founded in Arizona. Since 1995, the school has consistently received the top available rating from the Arizona Department of Education. Mrs. Wilber explains, “We attribute this 20-plus-year record of academic success to our unwavering dedication to traditional education and our team’s commitment to continuous improvement.”[/fourcol_three_last]

At Reid Traditional Schools, we treasure our teachers. We offer premium benefits to our staff, including Arizona State Retirement and almost free PPO health coverage. In addition to fully stocking paper and supplies, the Board of Directors reimburses teachers $100 per year for anything they spend on their classrooms. The Painted Rock Academy Organization of Parents also reimburses $100 to their teachers, thus minimizing any out-of-pocket costs for teacher extras. We also maintain staffing to ensure that teachers do not have lunchroom or recess duties during the school day, so they have time during the work day to take care of the many ancillary issues that teachers must deal with.
Unlike most district and charter schools, we maintain transparency in the faculty pay scale, and we continue to use a fair and easy to understand pay grid. Since this scale was put in place prior to 2000, we have consistently honored our commitment to providing teachers raises as promised and expected. During the recession, we were forced to freeze the pay scale only one time, while many schools froze salaries for almost a decade.
The average teacher pay increase from 2017-18 to 2018-19 for both of our schools was 9%. We raised the entire faculty pay grid, including new hires. Additionally, we distributed to teachers the one-time 1% pay increase as per the 2017-18 state budget. For detailed pay increase information, visit each school's website home page.
In addition to their base salary, our teachers receive Proposition 301 Merit Pay and a Results-Based bonus for scoring in the top 10% of all Arizona schools. Our attention to the well-being and satisfaction of our faculty has resulted in a very high teacher retention rate. We honor and protect our teachers; they are our most important asset.
